With
the exception of winter sports, you can find every mode sports in Rio,
from golfing to hang-gliding, from kite-surfing to cart racing. Given
that the price of playing these sports are about 1/3 of what you would
pay in the 1st world, we highly recommend you indulge in the during your
stay.
*Hangliding
- By far our highest recommendation, as rio is one
of the few tropical cities in the world where you can hang-glideor para-glide
over the city and land on a beach. And no, it is not dangerous, (but will
kick your adrenaline sky high, no pun).
Every day ( depends on wind ) - Facilities include: Photos and transfer
to and from and instructor. R$ Please Ask !

of Rio de Janeiro, there are rafting tours take you to white waters nearby.

lunch and an English Speaking Guide. R$ Please Ask
!
*Diving
or Snorkling - If you
ever wanted to learn to scuba dive, this is it. You can take a day course
called a "baptism" , wich you spend an hour learning the
teory, then get intothe water with an instructor by your side.( minimum
2 persons ) - On weekends - Facilities include: Transfer to
and from, 2 dives all equipments, an English Speaking Guide, fruits
and soft drinks. R$ Please Ask !
*Rappel
and Hiking - is a lot safer and easier than it looks. After you
it, you will slap yourself in the forehead. It requires little strenght
(just enough to feed the rope through the break) and so can be done by
anyone, specially those scared of heights. There are two types: The dry
and the wet rappel: one on rock or cliff, the other in or next to a waterfall
. Either is fun. there are many places in Rio where you can do them: Sugar
Loaf Mountain, Corcovado, Pedra da Gavea, Itaipava (next to Petropolis),
Grumari, Cabo Frio (next to Buzios) and other places. Hiking is a great
sport if you are in mixed group of athletes and non-athletes, since it
involves stamina more than strenght. On Weekends ( minimum 2 persons )
- Facilities include: Transfer to and from, an English Speaking Guide,
all equipmentes fruits and soft drinks. Hiking R$

*Kite-Surfing
-
is the coolest shit! It is the newest water sport and something you can
learn during your stay in Rio. Not only is Rio a great place to practice
and learn the sport, but down here lessons are also very affordable compared
to 1 st world prices (usually about 1/5 of what a similar course runs
for out there). Facilites include: 2 day course (8Hours), 1 night sleeping
accomodations, breakfast R$ Please Ask !
- Transfer to and from Rio International Airport R$
Please Ask ! (max 3 persons)
*Mountain
Climbing - Rio is naturally a great
place for mountain climbing. There are dozens of hills and mountains to
practice on, two of them on world renown post cards: Sugar Loaf and Corcovado
mountain. these tours are not available to those who have never done a
course before. Facilites include: 4 hour climbing trip of Sugarloaf or
Corcovado R$ Please Ask !
*Windsurfing
- is still a badass
sport. And Rio offers both still water and waves, for both beginners and
professionals alike. Facilites include: 2
Hour windsurfing lessons R$
Please Ask ! (minimum 4 persons except on weekends)
*Wakeboarding
and
*Water Skiing - has replaced water skiing, just like snowboarding
is replacing ski. And with good reason, you have better control of the
equipment when you only have to control one ratherthan two. Although the
sea is too bumpy to practice either of these properly, Rio has a lake
9 Lagoa ) that has improved in water quality, while remaining flat year
round. Facilites include: R$
Please Ask ! for full hour of either sport divided among
up to 3 people
